Original company post

GSA is auditing federal contracts with 689 firms following their suspension from SBA’s 8(a) Business Development Program.

The October 21 announcement says GSA will examine the contracts for potential fraud and refer suspected fraud to its Office of Inspector General and the Department of Justice.

This is an audit announcement. It is not an open solicitation or a finding that every firm under review committed fraud.

For federal contractors, it is a reminder to keep program representations and contract performance supported by traceable records: • Can you connect eligibility representations to current supporting documentation? • Do subcontracting and delivery records reflect the work actually performed? • Is there a clear owner for responding to official information requests?

Those are readiness questions, not new requirements created by this announcement.
